They don't do coupon codes like that which I am aware of, what I did find in this great coupon code collection website is they have some links but they don't apply to your particular situation. http://www.couponshare.com/coupons/Delta鈥?/a>
As far as I can see you are doing everything right. Traveling out on a Tuesday and returning on Saturday is usually the cheapest days of travel and you're also traveling in the off-season. Something you can do is purchase your ticket and if the fare goes down after that you can call and see if they'll match it. Be nice! Those folks on the phone get treated like dirt all day long and they really appreciate a friendly call they can help with.
Air fare prices can feel high a lot of the times but when you consider the distance traveled and the operational costs, they're not making as much money as people seem to think per seat. If you're unable to find a way to get a discount, at the very least I would hope you feel you're paying a fair value for what you are receiving.
It's a 750 mile drive for you on land and about 12 hours of driving if you did not stop. That could be a lot of fun to take as a road trip for you and your family or it could be a nightmare but I suppose it's also an option.
I wish you all a great trip!
